Why binding fabrics?

These printed binding fabric strips work just like the traditional method when binding your quilt or other pieced project. But, we have improved on tradition! Instead of measuring and cutting yardage into strips we've done the calculations for you, and added a unique twist.

Unlike traditional yardage strips, our fabric binding strips have two distinct pattern options. Allowing you to choose the look that suits you best. Horizontal strips or diagonal? Scalloped edges, or scallops with a little punchy 'tude thrown in? Don't worry, if there is one side that you aren't keen on, just face it toward your quilt, no one need ever know. This works especially well with the "talk to me" range, where you can choose to embrace either your warm and nurturing side or your slightly snippy and sarcastic alter ego.

They also come with some delightful coordinating fabric labels, with the Iconic range there are 3 - 4 labels per colourway that are included in the yardage.

To use: Ct your strips along the printed dashed lines, and press in half the same way you would a standard binding strip. Select which design you would like to showcase on your finished make and face it towards your project. Attach to your article with a 3/8" seam allowance. Then bring your binding over the raw edge and finish like normal, slip or machine stitch into place and you are done!

Things to note about this range.

This range allows for a 3/8" seam allowance, not the standard 1/4". This just gives you a little wiggle room when attaching the binding to a quilt. This is not bias binding.

While this range is primarily for binding quilted articles like quilts and cushions, why limit yourself? These ranges would be perfect for:

  • Making lanyards

  • Binding on quilt coats

  • Adding a little extra something to your next pouch project

  • Or sashing with a difference!

The possibilities are endless.
