It's official, we are now a quarter the way through these quilt tops! Well... at least into the goal deadline, which does not include quilting these beauties (and its begining to dawn on me how much of a mission that will be). This month some of these quilts are starting to go together, which is incredibly exciting (and for me motivating). So without further delay, lets get into it. Lee @quarteracreblock

I am so excited to see Lee's scrappy Starfall taking shape, and from what she has told me there is a great risk of running out of scrap pieces before the end. If you look at her photos she has pieced the pieces which I think is absolutely phenomenal and shows her dedication to this project. While on her journey to use every single scrap she has also created a few stars that were not included in the pattern, one of which I pinched for the March Bonus Star. So I am officially calling it, Lee has hit Jedi Master level for this project.
Nicole

Continuing on with the scrappy theme we have Nicole's gorgeous stas. I am loving the fussy cut hexies, especially the pink / grey butterfly star. I am incredibly curious to see what colour joiner diamonds she decides to use, maybe next month she may give us a hint.
Michelle @strawberriesandbobbins

Michelle went HARD this month, look at that incredible set of stars! I absolutely love this quilt, and I think it is going to be incredible and so unique. I am obsessed with the cat on black with that incredible pink / red fabric, what is not to love there. On the whole RSS prints are so playful and this quilt is going to be a lot of fun to explore when its all done.
Nikki @cottoncraftdesigns

YAY!!! Nikki is back in the land of the active Starfall maker! I can spy some fabulous Jennifer Paganelli in the mix there and I am excited to see them all made up into what could possibly be the most incredible quilt coat known to woman kind.

I am so impressed that I managed to keep up with this quilt last month. Sometime around March 5th a FedEx box filled with Jennifer Pagenelli and Sally Kelly prints arrived from Windham Fabrics. I had two weeks to create five makes (self imposed makes goal) and have photography back to them. My fingers (and eyes) hated me, but I managed it in 10 days and then had a few days to get photos altogeher. All this while my youngest had a birthday, full time work, prepping for our local Ag show then planning a short holiday with the kids. Please April, be calmer!!! My blocks are in order this month so you can see the diary of my month; when I worked with JP's range, and SK's, my Willa's birthday on the 13th (purple star 6 at her request) and two days of our holiday out to the cental west of NSW.

For me the most exciting thing to happen with my Starfall is finally making some progress on assembly. Because this is a diary style quilt there is no waiting to artfully arrange my stars, they are sequential and I just need to trust the process that this quilt will pull together and make something beautiful. This is where having cohesive joining diamonds will really pay off, adding some structured repetition to the chaos. It will be a lot, there is no denying that, but so am I, and so is life - so I am just going to roll with it. I really need to get cracking on my one a week version, because she will definitely need some delicate placement to take place. It would also be great to cheat and have her done by mid year so I can focus on the 2027 block a week (yes week, no more insanity from me).

I had a few whoopsies attaching joiners, and sometime multiple times in a row. But it did give me a chance to try out my new Missouri Star quick unpick (AKA seam ripper), her name is Frida (LOVE!) the name is on the packaging which I thought was super cute. I discovered that this quilt is longer than my capacity to hang things off my studio picture rail. Now my assembled rows are draped artfully over the studio doors, safe from cats and spilled cups of tea. I really want to get cracking on my border stars, I am thinking dark navy tone on tones, which of course are not in vogue right now. It may be time to hit up some destash groups. Oh, before I forget! The top left image of stars in the collage above are designed by Lee, aren't the awesome. How I did not think to pop a tumbling block in is beyond me!
Here is a sneak peak of what I created with my Windham delivery. Two new patterns that I need to write ASAP! Squeeeee!

I hope you have enjoyed your Starfall catch up! I will be back next month with April's gorgeous star assortment! Until then Possums, stay safe!
