While riding on the high of having two fabric ranges coming out, I thought I would try for a third! I am a huge believer in "nothing ventured, nothing gained", so glad I gave this a go as now I have an intentionally designed range coming out and I am so excited. Even though my favourite colourway didn't make it. *mutters to self * .

When I pitched Binding Glory to the lovely team at K and K Fabric they were a little overwhelmed by the amount of options - I don't blame them. New concept, and I really went to town on it all. So this time around I approached it all a little differently. I took the concept I was saddest about not making it through, and turned it into a range!

ModParade Binding Strips - Cake & Ale 2026

Four colourway options

The original concept was pitched in pink / orange and blue / green, which ironically didn't make it through this time either, but thankfully the concept did!

I love this design as a binding strip because each look will feel very different.

  • If you use the"A" (left) side, then one side of your backing will be chunky stripes, and the other will have a scalloped edge. I love scallops, don't you??

  • Where as if you choose the "B" (right) side then you will have a double scalloped edge that is centered over the edge of your quilt. It will create a much more subtle finish to your quilt project than the A side option.

Which is great, because you really can customise your quilt binding to suit your project. The binding also comes with these super cute quilt / project labels you can add to your projects as well. Some snippy, some not as well as a cute Bauhaus inspired quilt block. One day I will be brave enough for curves, one day.

Four colourway options

After I had decided on which binding option to strip, next came the coordinates! I am not brave enough (yet) to design a massive feature print, and in my own sewing practice I really don't use large scale prints. I love coordinates and smaller scale designs, so that is what I have created.

For the coordinates I really leaned into the Bauhaus vibe, taking the stripe and quarter circle elements from the binding to create some really cool repeat patterns. The "Semi Hemi", "Quartered", "Wallpaper" and "Stripes" are all pulled directly from the binding. Albeit I shrank the stripe down to a cute 1/4". The Circles design (my favourite) was inspired by Quartered, but with a slightly squared up circle. Aaannnddd of course I have worked these colours so they play nice with my SPOT range!

I love it when things are matchy matchy!

I am so excited to get my hands on the strike offs when they come, especially the ModMulti colourway (would have loved the pink / orange too guys * cough cough *, maybe next release...

I hope you have enjoyed my ramblings and the new range!

**** EDIT ****

WHOOPS! I hit publish on this and then realised I have COMPLETLY forgotten about the wide back options! Classic move by Cass.

These are the Semi Hemi and Quartered designs, just scalled up a little and put on point. So yes, the repeats on these are a little different to the coordinates, same great colours though. Why on point you ask? Well, my long arm bestie Jackson thought they would work better on point just on the off chance the fabric isn't running straight... or your quilt... let's just blame the fabrics. I hand quilt most often so I have made piece with not having things perfectly square and shifting around a bit when I work.

So thats all of my exciting news! Hope you enjoyed and thank you for making it all the way to the end. Cass xx
