Quite possibly, the best marketing ever! Generational trauma at its finest.

Just a few weeks back I had a first, a fantastic first, a brand I have using for a few years now sent me a care package! This is more than a freebie, call me dramatic (or having delusions of grandeur), but it really feels like I have just leveled up professionally. A brand I greatly admire, fan girl'd me back!!! EEEPPPPPPPP. So this is so much more than the product for me, and do not be misunderstanding me... the product is EPIC. Now who you may be asking yourself got me so excited??? Well, if you don't follow me on socials it was SOHMO.

For those of you who don't know Sohmo heres a link, you should really check them out. They are an Aussie based company (Aussie Aussie Aussie), that have some of the BEST packaging in the notions space AND best of all there is hardly any plastic. Something that both of my businesses whole heartedly supports, small changes make big differences Possums! It's really nice too that the poly / plastic bags used on things like the seam ripper is super good quality, and as such now has a second life holding EPP templates for one of my many travel projects. If I can repurpose plastics I feel so much better about buying the item.
Anyway! Package arrives on a Wednesday, I float around on a manic high for a day or two... then on Sunday morning wake up with the BEST idea. I was going to make my tin pockets (who doesn't love a pocket?!), I guess compartments would be a better term.... but I was as excited about it as I am about a sun dress with pockets.
I thought I'd have it knocked over in an hour or two. The Mister kindly took on solo parent duties as I proceeded to be locked in my studio for what turned out an entire day, talk about time blindness. So worth it though. Now if you are wondering why I went with a white liner, its to mimic the little paper patty pans the cookies used to come in! A bit abstract I know, but once I thought about it there was no other colour I wanted to use. I did have a fun afternoon feeling all shades nostalgic for the dolly tutus I used to make out of them.
I have such find memories or rummaging through my Nan's sewing tin, and generally making a mess of it. My mum still has the tin, and now I have my own to use. The generational trauma continues too, my son kindly unboxed this for me and was devastated when there were no cookies inside.

I still want to make a wee pincushion to fit in with my threads, possibly two. One for my needles and one for my pins. So if anyone is interested in having a free download of this insert let me know! I have a bit on my plate right now but I will definitely whip something up if anyone would like to "elevate" their Sohmo tin!
Disclaimer, it would be for ther Sohmo tin as it seems to be a little larger than your average biscuit tin. Until next time Possums! xx
Absolutely awesome I love this so much ❤️
