Well guys, this months Orbit Sew Along show & tell its just little old me! Not from a lack of participation, more that two of our lovely quilters are away on holidays! And they didn't pack their quilts gasp. So next months update should be a good one for you all.
Apologies for the terrible photos this month, and how few there are. We have had a lot of overcast and rainy days, and you guessed it... another flood sigh. The fabric selection really reflects my mood, the gloomier it is outside, the brighter my fabric choices. My small way of carving a little joy into my day, I do NOT do well when I can't see the sky.

It's amazing how a few prints can jog your memory, the red / white stripe and green AMH were purchased when I went into two for a hair cut (was that only 4 weeks ago?!). There are fabrics purchased from Bec at Sew.Be Creative in Newcastle... both times I went in this month, as well as a lovely mint Liberty to match my middle child's new glasses. Prints from other studio projects I am working on like Starfall's sample (block a day for 2026) and the border fabric from the Nepenthe quilt. There was also just the one birthday - picture below with the "confetti" dots on the top right. I think this is my favourite feature of a block a day, its my memory. Now I need to find a way to get sent covered as well and I will have the memory of an elephant. Though everytime I smell Soak's Pineapple Grove stiffener spray I think of Orbit.

One of the BEST things about working Orbit this month... my new standing desk. Thanks Dad!!! Its amazing, its just under 41" floor to the top of the bench which is a perfect working height for me. No more lower back pain while ironing or cutting out multitudes of pieces.

Of course no trip to a fabric store can happen without the youngling adding to her stash. I know I should be happy about the love of textile crafts passing on... but she is rummaging MY stash when ever my back is turned. She's also "borrowed" my Sohmo mini snips and they are yet to be returned.... hmmmmm. Well, until next month Possums! Cass

What a lovely collection of quilts! It’s great seeing how everyone’s creativity shines through in the Orbit Quilt Sew Along. The colour combos and stitching details are absolutely beautiful. I recently upgraded my setup with a new quilt cover that really brings out the tones in my fabric projects. This post has definitely inspired me to try a few new patterns and techniques. Can’t wait to see what everyone makes next month!
