Is it just me, or has the back half of the year time warp REALLY kicked it up a notch this year?! Somehow it's already creeping to mid August and I have been scrabbling to find time to upload all of the pretties. Truthfully I have been insanely busy with bundle prep, trade show prep, and work - what sucks is, this is where I have wanted to be all week! So HUZZAH for carving an hour out of my evening so I can show you all what the SAL Possums have been up to.
First off - MICHELLE IS BACK!!! WHOOHOOOO!!!
Michelle @strawberriesandbobbins
First off, I am a little salty that her weather looks so much better than mine right now, its gusting here and gloomy. These stars though, *chefs kiss* , they are sparking all the joy joy feelings right now. It is so nice to have Michelle back with us, and I am excited to see this quilt grow!

Nicole @patchworkfuchs
I think I am going to have to think of a very special thank you for Nicole, she turns up every, single, month. Not only is so consistent, but her starts are AWESOME. Every month I look forward to which design styles she will be playing with, she loves the ones I struggle with, which is probably why I look forward to her contributions so much. Star 2 and Star 4 - both of which I thought I would love... and don't, but I get to enjoy vicariously every month.

This month I have committed to memory a trip over the Great Dividing Range to see my favourite Aunt, Jackson's "Float ya boat" fabric strike offs arriving, my Alex getting a special achievement award for art (very proud) and the completion of my Deck the Halls wreath sample. HUAZZH! Definitely having a blue and pink month - it amazes me how you can really get fixed on one colour in particular. Last years Orbit Quilt had a LOT of toffee and magenta tones.

After promising a progress shot for the past two months, I finally have a photo my block a week Starfall quilt!!! All 52 feature stars are now finished!!! AANNDDDD I still have enough fabric to get the border stars cut from the same cloth. I am so excited.
At this point I am thinking about using dark navy as the joiners in this section, then grade the colours out to a light teal around the edge. Thoughts?
I am also playing around with what other stars will be used to create the border, I think outer most layer will be star 8, maybe some star 3 in there as well???

So I hope you have enjoyed the photos and this quick update! I am writing super quickly as we have 90KPH winds here at the moment and the lights keep flickering on and off. We do get a lot of power outs due to trees falling on the power lines, country life! Phone is fully charged, water in a pot on the stove (no power = no running water) and the battery lanterns are all out for easy access. Wish me luck and calm skies!
Cass xx
