I know! I know! I'm late... my "blog alarm" Jenny didn't spontaneously send me her pictures this month *gasp*. Clearly too busy with her Northern Hemisphere Summer (I don't blame her!!), and It wasn't until the 3rd of this month that I remembered to flick everyone a message. Shameaka and Lee are off having fun still (only a little jealous) so lets start off with Jenny's quilt!

I absolutely love this version of the quilt, its not anything I would think to do myself so its been so amazing watching the progress of it all. Jenny kept it short and sweet this month with her comment about the quilt "The whole quilt, the july/august part and the piece with the two birthdays and our many-years-of-wedding day."

Happy wedding anniversary guys!! xoxo

Orbit Quilt Aug 2025
Part of Cass's August Orbit

My August section ended up in two parts. My Orbit quilt will be assembled Jan - June and July - December, and all of the top section was complete except for a two row chunk in the middle that I needed to fill in with the first fortnight in August. Poorly planned on my behalf, but I have fixed this up for the edited 2026 version that will be replacing the current pattern really soon.

I also celebrated my 16th wedding anniversary in Aug (bottom row - fourth from the right). Other memorable days include a delivery of Jennifer Paganelli's "Sweet Talk" arriving. The lovely lilac backed floral in the first picture.

Crumpled Orbit Quilt Top - C&A

Keeping up with Orbit has been a lot harder for me lately. I (yet again) overestimated my capacity and had two magazine projects to get over the line, two Christmas projects in the works - one half done, pattern testing for 2026's Block a Day, getting Nested Blooms published (and now another full set in the works) as well as Nepenthe and my day job... clearly I love being busy. That being said, I do love my Friday night ritual of audio book and sewing the week's Orbit blocks while the kids do movie night. I am really happy to know that there will be another year long project in the works for 2026. Having a project that makes you sit and reflect on your day is a magic all unto itself.

Speaking of the next project, anyone want a sneak peak???

Starfall 2026
Starfall 2026

Meet Starfall! No we are not running with the duck egg blue for the sample, I had an idea and it turns out I suck at following anything but my instincts. So for the sample wall hanging we will be running with white joining diamonds. I know 60deg stars are nothing new, but I will be giving you eight variations... there will be right different star variations that you can use to mark your day. I have samples for ten different stars but one was a fail and the others we may add in via the blog as we go along. And thats the August update done! Have a great September Possums xoxo
