Starfall - September Show & Tell
You know, at this point I feel like I should call these updates the Nicole and Cass show (jokes). All our other sew along friends are off having epic adventures with other textile projects, and it's that time of year when we are all feeling the end of year fatigue. So I am doubly grateful for Nicole and the photos of her gorgeous stars each month. It is really comforting to know I am not alone in ambitious quilt journey. Nicole @patchworkfuchs As always, Nicole's work is so beautifully precise (and ironed... there are times mine aren't). This month I am particularly taken with top middle in the first photo - that green and lilac combo. Incredible.

So I realised that in my mania last month i.e. the Sydney QuiltNSW show, subsequent car issues and day job catch up (theres a blog post), that I forgot to take photos of all of my stars. I think we are missing four... I promise I did create them. The though of having to pull the assembled chains off the wall so I could find, then photograph them, was just too much. I have to say though, all in all September was a colourful month with a few highlights. My Mister's birthday is one day, strike offs arriving for my next fabric line (ModParade) and some highlights from the Sydney show.... also known as pinching the best fat quarters off Jackson's side of the booth while he wasn't looking. The warm fuzzies (for me) are from the one that was based off the outfit my Alex wore to a friends birthday party. That doesn't sound like much, but this is Alex's second birthday party invitation, ever. He is 16 next birthday. So yeah, that star makes me smile ear to ear. Those of you who have been following along may be asking what happened to the block a week version I was working on... it stalled. I had to wait for joiner fabric to arrive, which it now has, and the hold up now is time. Time and head space. I now need to select what star(s) the outer border rows will be made up of. I have a good idea forming, but its not fully fleshed out just yet. So watch this space. I am happy to update you all that the previous months stars are all in "chains" (columns) and sewn in sets of two. This month though I am hoping to get some of those sets of two to be come chunks of four. If I can make that happen I will be so excited. I know, I really need to take some photos of the quilt en masse - impressive (and colourful) is an understatement.
Well Possums, until next blog, be good xx
Cass
